Such a lovely experience as usual at Suchi Exchange. A family restaurant that never disapoints. Sally served us tonight and she is just incredible! Such a sweetheart and on it! She almost single handedly handled the serving of the restaurant. All with a smile on her lovely face! Chefs did an amazing job. The food was epic! Great date night! Thank you!!

The food quality and value at sushi exchange is always excellent. We stopped in tonight and tried a couple of their new dishes. The spicy Hali toro roll which had lime, habanero, yellowtail, and chopped toro with cilantro microgreens and the spicy tuna crispy rice. Both dishes were excellent, but I think they could cut the portion in half for the crispy rice and it would be better. It would be nice for them to be bite sized. Sushi exchange is a cute little strip mall spot that is very kid friendly and has a few TVs. It's always clean and inviting. The service is always friendly, but tonight they were a little understaffed and service was a bit slower than usual. Nothing terrible, though!

Cozy little spot in Carmel Valley. Service was great. The food was fresh and we balanced. A wide selection of draft beers. Cute decor and delicious maki rolls.

Outdoor seating is available, and that's where we settled in to enjoy our lunch in the sunshine. The ambiance outside was pleasant and nicely shaded. The staff was friendly and attentive, checking on us several times to make sure everything was going well. The teasers were a great way to kick off our appetite. The sashimi was fresh and beautifully prepared. Their specials--the spicy tuna crispy rice and jalapeño lime roll were tasty. Although I wish the crispy rice pieces (4 in total) had been smaller. They were so filling that I didn't have room to fully enjoy more rolls or dessert. Overall, the food was solid, but nothing truly stood out for me.

Sushi Exchange has a fun, eclectic vibe that's both industrial and lively at the same time. The dim lighting gives the space a cool, intimate feel, but there's still plenty of energy in the room. The crispy garlic tofu is absolutely worth coming for--it was easily the highlight of my meal. Super crispy on the outside and packed with so much flavor. I wasn't as impressed with the sushi. It wasn't bad, just kind of average, so next time I'll be trying something different. I noticed a lot of people eating out of ramen/udon bowls, so it seems like that's a popular choice here. I'll probably try one of those on my next visit. If you're looking for a cool, energetic place to hang out, Sushi Exchange is a good option. That garlic tofu was so good I'll definitely be back for it again.

We came here for dinner. There's a sign saying please wait to be seated but the waiter said we could sit anywhere we wanted. The chair was a little dirty with stickiness and food droppings from past guests. I think it would be nice if they ensured the table and chairs were clean. I just switched the chairs since there were plenty of them at the table. The menu is a QR code which is located on the utensils box. We ordered the Crispy Garlic Tofu, a House Salad, Spicy Seafood Udon, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Alaskan Roll, and I believe a Dragon Roll as well. To drink we had water and 2 ramune original sodas. The waiter was really nice and helpful, he helped us open our bottles when we were struggling. He was also attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed (extra spice, a fork, etc). The crispy garlic tofu was really salty and heavily flavored. While the crispiness of the tofu was lovely, the sauce was just too potent. I think if you had some rice it would lessen the strength of the flavor. The house salad was ok, but they gave you the dressing in a small container. I think it would be much better if they massaged the dressing into the salad since it didn't really hold all to well when we tried to mix it with our chopsticks. The most prominent flavors were carrot and ginger. Which is pretty typical for house salads at sushi restaurants. I wish it came together more nicely though. The rolls were generous and big. They had both seaweed and a vibrant green soy paper. While the rolls might have looked the same, they were different. One has shrimp tempura, the other had eel, and the last one had some raw orange fish. The spicy seafood soup wasn't super spicy thankfully since my cousins and aunt can't handle the heat. They had ample amount of seafood in the soup. From crabs, to shrimp, to calamari, mussels, etc. The udon was perfectly cooked! Overall it was a delicious spot for dinner! They were even playing Boruto on TV. I recommend this spot to friends and family. They have an extensive menu which both kids & adults can enjoy.

Summary: small parking spaces, dog friendly, good quality food, slow service, happy hour 3-6pm ($5 drink) Located on the street side in a small plaza next to a 7 eleven gas station. They have parking spaces but they are on the smaller side and fill up quickly so I wouldn't bring any huge trucks. Service here is usually really slow. It is normally pretty busy regardless of when we came so that might also be why. So order and ask for what you need when you have the chance. But on the other hand food comes out pretty quickly. One staff is usually always busy packing the online to-go orders which is always a lot. And the other serves the tables. They have QR code menu at each table. But also look up right under the TVs as they have additional specials menu. They have outdoor seating with 3-4 tables and have a doggie water bowl for your fur child. It is a bit loud as it is right next to the busy street. We love coming here when we are in the mood for the Korean Chinese JjamPpong (spicy seafood noodles) as their spicy sea food udon tastes just like it. It comes with a lot of sea food including crabs. Their sashimi and rolls are pretty good too. Always fresh and they come with a good amount of fish. They do use the generic paste wasabi and not the freshly graded one. Ginger slices are sweet which is good as they are easy to eat with your sushi.

Wow. From the spicy garlic edamame, to the hot sake and daily specialty items, there's no shortage of quality, taste or service. For the buzz this place has created, there's not much floor space, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you're coming during a meal hour, and especially on the weekends. But don't worry, it's worth the wait. I've come a number of times now; with friends, with family, sometimes with adults only and other times with kids. It's suitable for all occasions, and has a good list of local and imported craft beers on tap. The ninja roll is always a crowd pleaser with the crispy onions and jalapeños, and the lemon roll has a nice tang to it. The spicy rolls are spicy, and the crunchy rolls are crunchy. And perhaps most importantly, the fish is fresh and delicious, and the restaurant never smells fishy. This has become one of my go-to sushi stops.

My daughter and I were going to the TLC concert at the Del Mar fairgrounds and wanted sushi. She picked this one since it was on the way and she made a wonderful choice. Super quaint love the simplicity but also reminded of a spot we go to in Hawaii . Our server was sweet and are food came quickly. I ordered XXX roll which was amazing it had yellowfin , avocado, Serrano, spicy tuna with a habanero sauce. It wasn't spicy as it sounds but I love spice! My daughter had the crunchy roll and loved every bite! We also shared a side of spicy garlic edamames. It was full of flavor and just the right amount of spice! We loved the sauce from the edamame, that we drizzled it on our sushi. We will be coming back for more!!
